Details
I grew up in the foothills of the eastern plains of Colorado and was lucky enough to have a family that enjoyed the outdoors. On most weekends I can remember being out camping, hiking or climbing one of Colorado’s high mountain peaks with members of my family or friends. During these outings I developed a very strong appreciation of the wilderness, and a life long love of the mountains.
Though my passion for the mountains long preceded my passion for photography, I have found that photography is a great motivator to explore places I might not usually hike to, sometimes in weather that most would not dare to hike in, and often at times of day that may seem crazy. One of the things that drives me is a deep desire to capture the beautiful, sometimes very brief events that occur out in the wilderness. In my opinion it doesn't get much better than hiking to a remote alpine lake, surrounded by majestic peaks and panoramic views.
One goal of my photography is to capture and share some of the moments of paradise in nature. It is especially gratifying when you can share the beauty, tranquility and unique character of the scenery with others. Perhaps inspiring some to explore, experience, and respect the wilderness for themselves.
Aerial Photography
As an avid RC enthusiast it was only a matter of time before I started combining my love of photography with flying my RC planes and helicopters. With many hours of practice and the advances in drone and gimbal technology those choppy, bumpy videos and blurry pictures gave way to crisp cinema quality shooting. Drone photography/ videography has only deepened my interest in capturing the perfect shot from any vantage point. As an FAA licensed Drone Operator you can be sure to get the shot while maintaining compliance to all local/ federal regulations.
